When not in lab… Emy, enjoys watching her partner cook. In occasion, she will join to help make delicious Puerto Rican food. She also loves playing and cuddling with her senior fur baby, Antonio. As a comedy fan, she spends the rest of her free time improving her comedic skills, such as punch line delivery and dead-pan humor.

Lauren Cominsky
Immunology Graduate Student
When not in lab… Lauren enjoys playing tennis, doing yoga, and listening to, as well as making, music. You can almost always find her with an iced Matcha latte in-hand and earbuds in. On the side, she is the Communications Chair for Penn Graduate Women in STEM and Engineering, a mentor for undergraduate students in the Graduate School Mentoring Initiative, and an active member of the Immunology Graduate Student Association.

Suzanna Rachimi
Immunology Graduate Student
When not in lab…Outside of lab Kathya enjoys playing soccer, tennis, and walking her Yorkie, Minnie. She loves anything horror, including movies, books, and true crime podcasts but if you see her looking at multiple screens I am most likely watching her team, FC Barcelona, play. I love sharks, music in Spanish, and Mexican food.
Kathya Arana Fernandez Garrido
Post-doctoral fellow
When not in lab…Outside of the lab I like all the sports, cooking and travelling the great outdoors. Finding good food with friends is usually how I'll spend my weekend if it's not watching a sports game (rugby league, Australian rules football or cricket of course). Squeeze in a comedy show or some live music - literally any genre - then I've definitely had a good time.
Joe Mackie, PhD
Post-doctoral fellow
When not in lab…you can find Conor at home cooking or nerding about plants. He loves exploring Philly's food and drink scene with his wife and dog Maggie. Away from the bench, he suits up as a rheumatology fellow to tackle misbehaving immune systems in children.
Conor Gruber, MD/PhD
Visiting student
When not in lab…Hagje loves going to good restaurants around town, listening to any kind of music, playing football (or soccer) and working out. On the weekends, Hagje can be usually found either resting in his room or going on random trips around the area to find new interesting places.

When not in lab…Lindsey enjoys playing squash and mountain/gravel biking. She also is an avid Philly sports fan and loves to root for the Eagles (Go Birds!!). You will probably find Lindsey with her two dogs, Rocky and Lola, or playing some sort of sport. She also loves to bake in her free time.
